Local

Throughout the years, we have been involved in numerous one-time community service projects.  While we plan to continue our participation in such projects, we are currently exploring more on-going community service opportunities as well.

Currently, we participate in the following local community service projects:

1. Clothes & School Supplies Giveaway

One on-going project we’ve done the past three years is our Clothes and School Supplies Giveaway for people of all ages.  Each July, we open our doors to the community to come and get whatever clothing or school supplies they need, free of charge.  All clothes are gently used and donated by the congregation and others in the community; school supplies are purchased brand new and donated. Thus far, the giveaway event has been a huge blessing to both the church and to those in need.  We plan to continue this project in the future.

2. Blessing Box

The Blessing Box is located next to our youth center and is open for anyone in the community to anonymously take items as needed. Likewise, items can be added by anyone in the community at any time.

3. Backpack Buddies

We are a partner in the local school corporation’s Backpack Buddies program, whose mission is to provide weekend food for students who have little or no food for the weekend and who rely on school meals to fulfill their weekly nutritional needs.  In addition to an annual monetary donation, we also collect food items to be delivered to the school each month.

4. Firewood Ministry

Each winter, the men in our congregation cut and deliver free firewood to families in need.
